Geno (Whose real name is ♥♪!?) is one of Mario's partners in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. He is a wooden toy doll sent to serve a higher authority and to save their world. He is a Star specie who has a gun for a hand.

Story[]

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars[]

After the Star Road was destroyed, Geno came down to Earth to fix it. During the night Mario spent sleeping at an inn at Rose Town, the star sprite chose Gaz's Geno doll as his earthly avatar. Seeking the Star Pieces, Geno headed deep into the Forest Maze to fight Bowyer.

Encountering Mario and Mallow during his battle with Bowyer, Geno gladly accepts their help in battle. Defeating Bowyer, Geno explains to Mario and Mallow about his mission to find the Star Pieces and repair Star Road. Geno decides to travel with them to find the Star Pieces and becomes a party member. Geno offers advice to the party throughout, as a mystical sage-type figure.

After destroying Smithy and reclaiming all seven Star Pieces, again a beam of light radiates from Geno becoming lifeless (although the doll appears larger, possibly due to leveling), and the star agent bids farewell to his allies in order to take the Star Pieces back to the Star Road.

Geno appears in the ending credits parade, where Mario and Princess Toadstool watch him ascend and leave Earth. He then makes the words "The End" appear.

Other appearances[]

Geno made a minor cameo in the 2003 video game, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga in a mini-game. Square did not have any role in the development of that game however. Though, Geno was removed in the remake of that game in 2017.

Abilities[]

Geno's attacks are part magic and part projectile; his regular attacks shoot various bullets and even rocket-powered fists from his arms, while his special attacks tend to involve beams of light shot from a cannon. He is one of the more offense-based party members, having high attack and magic capabilities. Geno can be the fastest character, having a base Speed of 30, unless another party member has an item equipped. Of particular note is his "Geno Whirl" attack, which, if properly timed, can produce 9,999 points of damage to enemies, making it the most powerful move in the game, although it does not work on bosses, except the hilt of Exor's sword body (and Yaridovich clones). Geno's magic defense tends to be quite low.

His spells are as follows: Geno Beam, Geno Boost, Geno Whirl, Geno Blast, and Geno Flash.
